Hey guys! So I believe you’ve heard mention on more than one occasion about how Aloe Vera is a great product to use in your hair if your trying to make it healthier. Well now I’m finally telling you all about the benefits.

Aloe Vera is used in hair products because of it’s ability to improve the results of detangling, moisture if any of you struggle with that, scalp healing, remediation of dandruff, it restores pH levels, decreases frizz, and generates hair growth.

Many people have said that whenever they used Aloe Vera in their hair after washing and conditioning, they reported excellent results. Some like to use it as a stand alone styling gel and others don’t think it holds a sufficient enough curl retention.

The reason why Aloe Vera benefits your hair is because it has both emollient and moisturizing properties. It forms a polymer film on the surface of the hair which smooth's the cuticle and helps to seal in moisture.  The amino acids and any traces of protein can be beneficial in certain climates for certain hair types but horrible for others.

Aloe Vera also has anti-pruritic properties meaning that it can alleviate any itchiness or dryness you may be feeling. This can destroy excess dead skin cells while also conditioning the scalp. It also reduces redness, scaling, itching, or inflammation of the scalp.

As for dandruff, Aloe Vera basically does the same thing as I said above about killing dead skin cells which is what dandruff is. There could be an underlying cause to dandruff, but most doctor’s just state that dandruff’s existence is a fat eating fungus that can live off the scalp. Aloe Vera also has anti-fungal properties, which can help reduce further growth or build-up of dandruff over time.

How you can use Aloe Vera in your hair is by getting an Aloe Vera conditioner or making your own. To make your own you can cut an Aloe Vera plant and extract the gel with a spoon or scooper. You can apply it to damp hair using your fingers. Start from the scalp all the way down to your hair ends. After your finished place your hair in a warm towel and wait fifteen minutes so the gel can sink in. Wash your hair with a mild herbal shampoo afterwards.

See you guys next Monday!
